Hey everyone!
While researching and traveling through Thailand, I came across some pretty strange (but interesting) laws that I thought I’d share with you all:
You can’t step on money: It’s actually illegal to step on Thai currency because it has the image of the King on it, and showing disrespect to the monarchy is a serious offense.
It’s illegal to drive shirtless: No matter how hot it gets, you’re supposed to keep your shirt on while driving — even on a scooter!
You must wear underwear: In public spaces, it’s technically illegal to go out without underwear. (Don’t worry, enforcement is pretty rare!)
No littering — big fines! In places like Bangkok, getting caught littering can lead to a big fine, and sometimes even a court appearance.
Be careful with your vaping gear: E-cigarettes and vaping are banned in Thailand. Getting caught with one can result in a heavy fine or even jail time.
It’s always good to know these little things before you go, especially because some of them could get you into real trouble without you even realizing it.
Have you guys heard of any other strange laws while traveling?
